Sustainability

Our social and renewable infrastructure assets seek to achieve positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.

Sustainability is a core component of our investment philosophy. Prioritising responsible investment aligns with the long-term nature of the assets in which our funds invest and the relationships we look for with our investment partners.

Our areas of focus

Commercial
Ground Rents

We recognise that the way buildings are designed, built, managed and occupied can significantly influence their impact on the environment and affected communities.

Our ESG due diligence aims to identify, measure and manage such risks. We are proactive in engaging with relevant stakeholders.

Social Infrastructure

Our investments in social infrastructure provide physical assets to support the long-term delivery of essential services, across three key pillars - health, housing and education.

These investments support both those who receive and deliver essential services, providing quantifiable societal benefits alongside financial returns.

Renewable Infrastructure

Our funds invest directly in UK renewable infrastructure with a focus on wind and solar assets. These assets exhibit inherently strong and measurable environmental benefits.

We also focus on engagement with local communities and assess legal, operational and environmental risk as part of an asset’s ESG due diligence.

We are

Our real assets provide real world benefits

ESG is integrated into our investment processes, including through ESG due diligence, proprietary ESG Scorecards and Investment Committee review of ESG considerations. We consider both ESG risks and benefits. We believe that many assets in which our funds invest help us face the challenges of climate change and underserved people and communities.

ESG Committee

AlphaReal’s ESG Committee draws on a broad range of expertise with representatives from across the organisation, chaired by the Head of Sustainability. The committee is a forum for idea generation and guidance, and for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. It is a flat structure which facilitates knowledge-sharing and underpins our belief that sustainability is everyone’s responsibility.
