Boris is Head of Client Solutions. His focus is to develop institutional business in the UK and Europe across all AlphaReal’s core business strategies.

Boris has over 20 years’ experience in consulting and investment management. He was responsible for building outcome-oriented investment strategies, focusing on Cashflow Driven Investing and real assets at Aviva Investors. He was a principal consultant at Mercer, specialising in providing strategic investment, financial and risk management advice to pension funds and corporate sponsors.

Tamsin’s focus is to further develop the firm’s business with institutional clients and their advisers.

Tamsin has over seven years’ experience working in business and client relationship development. Prior to joining AlphaReal, Tamsin held various roles at M&G, most recently in investor relations, providing high quality client service and business development for institutional investors.

Tamsin holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and a BA in Geography from the University of Exeter.

Stuart’s focus is to further develop the firm’s business with institutional investors and their advisers.

Stuart has over 10 years’ experience in the pensions and investment management industry. Prior to joining AlphaReal, he held business development roles in the fiduciary management teams at Willis Towers Watson and Cardano.

Stuart holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Colin’s focus is to develop the firm’s institutional business in Europe.

He has over fifteen years’ experience in client solutions, providing alternative and traditional solutions across asset classes to major institutional investors. He has worked for leading European, UK and Australian investment managers and investment banks including Crescendo Real Estate Advisors, Nordea Investment Management, UBS and Goldman Sachs.

Colin is a CFA charter holder.

Patrick is Head of Long Income and leads the AlphaReal origination team. His primary focus is growing the business’s institutional commercial ground rents and other long income strategies in the UK and Europe.

Patrick has over 20 years’ experience in the property market, the majority of which has been spent in alternative asset sectors such as hotels, healthcare and leisure. Prior to joining AlphaReal, he was at CBRE, Gerald Eve, Christie & Co and St Martins Property Corporation.

James is Co-Head of Social Infrastructure and Co-Fund Manager of AlphaReal’s social infrastructure funds. James focuses on social infrastructure fund growth and leading the origination process.

He joined from specialist property consultants, Gerald Eve. James has over 20 years’ experience in real estate with a focus on the social real estate sub-sectors: health, housing and education.

James is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Anne is Co-Head of Social Infrastructure and Co-Fund Manager of AlphaReal’s social infrastructure funds.

Anne is an investment, development, and social operational specialist with an accomplished background in delivering thematic solutions to institutional investors. She has a proven track record in delivering bespoke solutions, transactions, and leading social infrastructure investment funds.

Anne is a Chartered Surveyor and falls within the Senior Managers and Certification Regime. She has a BSc Honours from Reading University and has completed the Financial Times Board Director Programme.

Edward is Chief Investment Officer and Head of Sustainability. He is also Joint-Deputy CEO. He chairs the Investment Committee, oversees the investment process and fund performance, and leads ESG integration across the group.

Edward has over 25 years’ financial services experience covering investment management, insurance and investment banking. Prior to joining AlphaReal, he spent 14 years at MetLife as Chief Investment Officer, EMEA, overseeing approximately £10 billion equivalent of AUM.

Co-Head of Renewable Infrastructure

Stephen is the Co-Head of Renewable Infrastructure and Co-Fund Manager. He manages asset-backed investment solutions and has overseen the deployment of over £1 billion into the UK renewable energy and secured lending sectors.

He began his career at Accenture before joining the asset management division of Close Brothers Group plc in 2007.

Stephen holds an MBA from Durham University and is a chartered certified accountant.

Phillip founded AlphaReal in 2005 and is Chief Executive Officer.

He has over 40 years’ experience in the real estate, fund management and banking industries in Europe, the USA and Australasia. Prior to founding AlphaReal, he was Head of Real Estate for ABN AMRO Bank.

Phillip has served as an independent member of the management committee of Hermes Property Unit Trust and as a non-executive director of Great Portland Estates plc.

Mark has over 35 years’ experience in real estate, fund management and investment banking. Mark has previously been Chief Operating Officer and Director of Finance and Operations at RREEF (Deutsche Bank’s real estate funds management group) and has held investment banking roles at HSBC and Macquarie Bank.

Karl is Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for financial control across the firm and its funds including structuring, debt finance and financial reporting. He also oversees regulatory compliance and IT.

Karl has over 20 years’ experience in finance across the real estate and leisure sectors. Prior to joining AlphaReal, he worked in group finance at Hammerson plc and at Heron International.

Karl is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate Member of the Corporate Treasurers.

Brad has been a Partner of AlphaReal since its inception in 2005. He is Head of Debt and Joint-Fund Manager of Alpha Real Trust. He oversees business development opportunities for the group, including AlphaReal’s asset-backed lending growth.

Brad has over 25 years’ experience across the real estate and finance industries, working within investment banks, property companies and institutions in both Australasia and Europe. Prior to joining AlphaReal, Brad was Executive Director, Real Estate Investment Banking at Lehman Brothers and Managing Director of CBRE Financial Services.

Scott is Director of Investment Capital and is responsible for institutional capital raising.

He has over 28 years’ experience in the real estate and fund management industries across Australia, Asia and Europe. Scott has worked in financial institutions, property companies and real estate agencies and was previously a Director of Colliers International. He returned to AlphaReal following a period as the Head of Real Estate Fund Management at a bank.

He has over 30 years’ commercial property experience in UK real estate investment, fund management, finance, and asset management. Tom is a member of the Investment Committee and previously fund manager of three AlphaReal funds. Tom was a founding partner of Antler Property Investments UK LLP, Managing Director of Antler Property Investments Plc and a Director at Fletcher King.

Tom is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Philip is a Senior Adviser at AlphaReal.

Philip is the Independent Investment Advisor to Worcestershire Pension Fund, Shropshire Pension Fund and Oxfordshire Pension Fund. He is an External Member of West Yorkshire Pension Fund’s Investment Advisory Panel.

Philip has over 43 years’ experience in the securities industry, having been with Charterhouse Securities (formerly Tilney & Co) for 20 years, being appointed a Director in 1992. In 2000 he joined Merseyside Pension Fund as Head of UK Equities. Philip was a Non-Executive Director of Aberdeen Private Equity Fund from 2009 to 2018 and has been the Principal of Independent City Consultants since 2010.

Phil is a Senior Adviser at AlphaReal.

Phil has held a range of positions across both business development and consulting and has over 40 years of pension and investment experience.

Phil holds other senior advisory roles. He was Executive Director at Cardano. He was Head of Business Development EMEA at Aviva Investors and had roles at Credit Suisse, Zurich, CIS and Scottish Mutual. His formative years were spent as a pension’s consultant at Hogg Robinson Benefit Consultants.

Andrien is a Senior Adviser at AlphaReal. He is a Management (MILM), Finance, Accounting (FCCA) and Investment (MCSI) professional. Andrien is also an elected politician, serving the Ward of Aldgate in the City of London as a Common Councilman (CC) and is currently the Deputy Alderman.

Andrien has a portfolio career, where he is Head of Pensions Investments for Local Government, and also holds various non-executive and advisory roles within the investment industry. He chairs the Investment and EDI committees at the City of London Corporation.

Mark joined AlphaReal as a Senior Adviser in 2023. He has 25 years’ experience in the energy sector spanning solar, energy storage, wind, nuclear, carbon capture, gas fired power generation and interconnectors.

Mark currently serves as an NED on the boards of Anesco and Origami Energy. He was CEO at Anesco until January 2023, where he oversaw the development and construction of over 500MW of solar PV and energy storage projects. Prior to that, he held a series of executive roles at Centrica.

Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a Chartered Engineer. He studied Chemical Engineering at Cambridge University and received an MBA from Columbia Business School.
