These acquisitions include deployed and committed capital of more than £160 million, marking a significant contribution to the UK’s renewable energy transition.
The largest of the acquisitions, the 66.6MWp Bockingfold Solar Farm in Kent, is currently under construction and is expected to start generating electricity in mid-2026.
AlphaReal has also committed capital to three further solar farms with a combined capacity of 114 MWp situated in Bath, Aberdeenshire and Lincolnshire. The three sites have been developed by European Energy and, following completion of construction, are expected to start generating electricity in the first half of 2025.
Rounding off the successful deployment, is a further acquisition of a 4.98 MWp operational solar farm located in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. The asset, which was developed by Q Energy Europe GmbH, has a revenue profile that includes a further 11.5 years of index-linked subsidies.
Raza Ali, Investment Director, Renewable Infrastructure at AlphaReal said: “We only take full ownership positions in our acquisitions, and the assets we acquire all have land, planning and grid connection dates secured. Once the assets become operational, they add new renewable energy generation capacity to the grid, which helps the UK reach its net-zero targets.”
Maria Vaggione, Associate Director, Sustainability at AlphaReal said: “Private capital is essential if the UK is to achieve its net zero target. AlphaReal has been investing in renewable energy assets for over a decade and to date, we have deployed over £1 billion across 180 operational assets. These recent acquisitions are an excellent achievement for AlphaReal and a contribution to the renewables sector.”
